The 19th China International Machine Tool Exhibition (CIMT2025) with the theme of “Integration and Innovation of Digital Intelligence Future“, focusing on the deep integration of informatization and manufacturing technology, attracted 2,449 enterprises from 31 countries and regions around the world (including China) to participate in the exhibition, covering the whole industrial chain of machine tool hosts, CNC systems, functional components and so on.
In recent years, the author has continued to pay attention to the development of five-axis machining centers. It is observed that at the Shanghai CCMT2024 Exhibition, domestic companies exhibited 94 five-axis machine tools, and foreign companies exhibited 43 units; This year’s exhibition reached nearly 400 units, a significant increase. This shows that the mystification of five-axis machine tools has been gradually broken, and more and more companies have begun to launch such products on a large scale.
In addition to the traditional advantageous enterprises, a number of emerging enterprises such as Guangdong Jinke, Beijing Boruspan, Jiangsu Boyang, Nantong Guosheng, Guangdong Kejie and so on are actively laying out the five-axis machine tool market. At the same time, domestic machine tool enterprises have significantly improved in product structure design, material selection, processing accuracy and other aspects.
On the whole, domestic machine tool enterprises are moving from the early technology introduction and integrated design to the development stage with independent characteristics, showing a good trend of multi-path parallel and collaborative breakthroughs.
It can be seen from the Beijing CIMT2025 International Machine Tool Exhibition that the domestic machine tool industry is in a critical stage of transformation from the accumulation of “quantity” to the breakthrough of “quality”. The technical achievements and product progress displayed in the exhibition indicate that our country’s machine tool enterprises are getting rid of the dependence on the traditional path and gradually exploring a development model with Chinese characteristics.
Whether it is focusing on typical application scenarios and user demand-oriented product forward design, or relying on the research and development of dedicated machines to continuously accumulate core technologies and expand the general product line, or starting from key functional components in the upstream to build an independent and controllable industrial chain system, domestic machine tool enterprises have achieved coordinated breakthroughs on multiple technical paths. These practices not only demonstrate a significant improvement in the technological innovation capabilities of enterprises, but also reflect the overall enhancement of the basic strength of China’s manufacturing industry.
In the future, machine tool enterprises will no longer merely be equipment suppliers but should also become solution providers covering the entire manufacturing process. Through continuous technological iteration, process integration and system integration, promote the transformation of “Made in China” to “Intelligently Made in China”. Just as the theme of this exhibition, “Integration, Innovation, Digital and Intelligent Future”, reveals, the domestic machine tool industry is standing at a historical juncture of transformation and upgrading, steadily moving towards the development goals of high quality, high level and sustainability.
